This city is an animal. Rowdy, uncouth. A boa constrictor. It wraps itself around its prey and starts squeezing, all the while looking at the contorted face of it's prey, enjoying the agony, an award winning actor admiring his trophy. It crushes your ribs, forcing your guts out and finally, your heart explodes, unable to bear all the pressure. And then the animal gulps it down. Noiselessly. Except that the prey is human, and those guts forced out are a million dreams.

Requiem for a Dream

Requiem for a Dream

Every waking moment,
Every sleep memory,
Every comforting voice,
Every thought, worrying.

The wait for you
The peace with you
The desire of you,
the angst, without.

My insecurity,
Your confidence,
Your emotion
My words, against your tongue.

Every photograph that spoke,
Every verse that didn't rhyme
Whispered nights,
Morning Sighs, entwined.

My fingers, your waist
A caress, warm lips
Your breath, my name
Lives, conjoined.

Starry skies,
fluid constellations,
Guided by the moon,
Destinies, unrepaired.

Symphony of the Sea

On a calm salty evening,
I rest my chin
on Her shoulders
the chill of smooth moon curls
caress them aside,
short breath of anticipation
I play with Her words

flows along my skin,
the malleable trickle of emotions
cool, until you delve
part its folds
caress the depth within
and find the warmth,
that envelops me all around
the solace of loneliness

She talks to me, you know
starts with a whisper,
Her secrets building up,
slowly,
reaching to a crescendo
a little too soon,
the crash, cascade
the final sigh
the calm again...

Me and Her.

Staah-fish

Squared

And like that small story about the difference each of us can make, I tried putting a few back in the water...
